your son can approach the Indian consulate in US to get it duly registered and notarised before the competent Authority and the same can be sent to India for neccessary legal foramlities to be complied with here with local Authorities and then you can use it.

I assume your Son in USA and you are in India. Your son want to buy flat in India through SBI loan.
There is a format of PoA available for such cases in all banks. You obtain a format of PoA from SBI and mail it to your son. He can make the PoA in your favour as per the format and take a printout in plain paper.
this can be either notarised by a notary over there or attested by an officer not below the rank of Attache in the indian consulate at in that locality.
That can be couriered to you. Now you are the legally constituted Power of Attorney for your son. You can sign and act on behalf of your son.
